MEET OUR TEACHERS
Miss Grace - Principal Teacher & Studio Owner
I began dancing at the age of two and have loved dancing ever since! During my training, I studied a wide range of dance styles, completed numerous dance examinations with the BBO and IDTA, and had the opportunity to perform in a variety of theatres.
I went on to attend a Performing Arts College, where I gained a UAL Diploma in Performing and Production Arts with Distinction. I then continued my professional training with the British Ballet Organisation, achieving Distinctions in both my Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Dance Teaching. I am also a qualified IDTA dance teacher in Freestyle and Theatre Crafts, as well as a certified Acrotrix teacher.
The safety and wellbeing of my students is extremely important to me. I am fully trained in Emergency First Aid and hold up-to-date Safeguarding and Enhanced DBS Certificates.
Before opening my own dance school, I gained valuable teaching experience working with hundreds of students across Cheshire and Staffordshire, teaching at a variety of primary schools and private dance schools.
In addition to teaching, I have also choreographed, directed and produced numerous dance shows and community performances.
Since opening Scane Dance in June 2021, we have welcomed hundreds of students through our doors. It has been incredibly rewarding to build a school where students can develop their skills, confidence and love of dance in a positive and supportive environment.
Dance has always been a huge passion of mine, and one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is being able to share that passion with the next generation. I want every student to feel encouraged, confident and proud of what they can achieve, while developing a genuine love of dance along the way.
Miss Amy- Dance & Acro Teacher
I began dancing at the age of two at my local dance school, where I studied a wide range of dance disciplines and completed numerous examinations. During this time, I was also fortunate to be awarded three scholarships with the BBO, Graham Fletcher and MIDAS. I had the opportunity to perform twice with the English Youth Ballet at Buxton Opera House, which was an amazing experience early in my dance journey.
I went on to pursue vocational training, studying at Ballet West in Scotland and later at Kate Simmons. I achieved an HNC in Professional Dance Performance, as well as a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. During my training, I performed in several ballets and at theatres across Scotland and the Midlands.
I am trained in a wide range of styles, including Ballet, Pas de Deux, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Spanish, Street, Commercial, Heels and Musical Theatre.
I am a qualified dance teacher with both the IDTA (Level 4 Diploma in Dance Teaching) and ISTD (Level 4 Diploma in Dance Education – Cecchetti Classical Ballet).
I have taught in a variety of primary schools, delivering dance curriculum lessons as well as running fun and engaging holiday clubs.
Alongside teaching, I have enjoyed a professional career as a dancer and choreographer. I worked as a Show Captain and Choreographer at Alton Towers, performing in events including Scarefest, Oktoberfest, Summer of Fun and the Fireworks Spectacular. I also featured in TV adverts and social media campaigns promoting the resort.
I have also worked as a Production Cast Dancer for Haven, performing up to eight shows a week and taking on multiple roles within a full pantomime production.
I am currently continuing my professional development and training to become a qualified Pilates and Fitness Instructor. I love sharing my experience and passion for dance with my students and helping them to develop their confidence, technique and enjoyment of performing.
